pure landscapes - light and land
What makes a good landscape photograph?
Viewpoint? Timing? Light? All these things, but most of all it is
the quality of the light that can turn a good photograph into a
great one.
My quest is to find that perfect light
and so I rise before dawn or stay till the last light has gone. I
will search when the weather is bad and it looks hopeless, hoping
for that fleeting moment when the sun might break through; or I will
simply glory in nature's dark moods, always trying to capture the
truth of what I see. Perhaps I will return, revisiting a scene many
times before I am satisfied.

Any filters I use are to overcome the
inadequacies of film, not of the scene before me. Likewise, the
computer is not used to improve nature, only to improve the
recording process, so that what originally moved me is there for all
to see.
