BUYING PRINTS

Although I now use a digital camera exclusively, some of the photographs on this site have been taken on medium-format colour transparency film.

Prints from transparencies are produced from high definition scans of the the originals producing digital files which can bring out the subtlety of tone and detail that the original possesses.

Will my print be the same as I see on the website? See bottom of page

Standard prints are printed on 260gsm satin surfaced resin coated paper using a giclée fine art printing process. This is a sophisticated inkjet printing method that provides subtle gradations and superb colour accuracy using archival quality pigmented inks.

I have a special selection of images that I can supply as 100% pure cotton canvas prints which are hand stretched over a mitred and wedged, 18mm deep, wooden stretcher that is made from the finest spruce pine fir kiln-dried lumber. Post, Packing and Payment

Postage and packing is £3 per order and will be applied at the checkout. Prints are delivered unmounted and rolled up in a postal tube ready for framing. I have found this the best method for delivering prints as mounted and framed prints can be easily damaged

Most major credit cards are accepted via Paypal and the cost would be converted into your chosen currency when you go to the checkout. After your order has been confirmed by email, please allow 14 days for delivery.

IMPORTANT NOTE

By purchasing a print you are buying a work of art for the purpose of decoration and as a valuable collectors item. You may re-sell the print as a copyright protected work of art, but you may not copy the image in any way, nor publish the images or grant licenses to third parties for reproduction. You become the owner of the print, but not the owner of the copyright of the image.

By buying a print you will agree to abide by British copyright law.

Viewing photos on your computer

Anyone working professionally with images uses specialised equipment and software to calibrate their monitor to ensure that images on screen are exactly the same as what is printed.

The average computer user will not have their monitor so finely tuned and so images may appear darker or lighter than they actually are.

As  a rough guide, use the greyscale here to adjust your brightness and contrast settings - you should be able to see 12 steps clearly.
