pure landscapes - light and land

What makes a good landscape photograph? Viewpoint? Timing? Light? All these things, but most of all it is the quality of the light that can turn a good photograph into a 'great' one.

My constant quest is to find that perfect light and in my search I rise before dawn or stay till the last light has gone. I will search when the weather is bad and it looks hopeless, hoping for that fleeting moment when the sun might break through; or I will simply glory in nature's dark moods, always trying to capture the truth of what I see. Perhaps I will return, revisiting a scene many times before I am satisfied.
